FIT FRIDAY - MY 2016 FITNESS ROUTINE

Friday, January 8, 2016

It's Friday and I know how tempting it can be to give in and give up healthy eating on the weekend. Have no fear, Kianna Rose is here with a (hopefully!) regular series here on the blog titled "Fit Friday." Every other week (or every week? What do you think?), I'll share a tip of two on staying healthy, fit and totally fab... even when you're in college and staying up late doing homework and being tempted with pizza and quesadillas. Its a new year, so don't give up or give in!
Now, huge part of being fit and living a healthy lifestyle is establishing some sort of routine that is easy to follow and stick with. Last year, I began my fitness journey and over the course of the year, I experimented with different workouts and routines until I found a few that really worked for me.

I try to workout 6 times a week, making Sunday my rest day. Monday-Wednesday I push hard and Thursday-Saturday, I take it a little slower. Here's what my weekly routine looks like:

MAIN WORKOUT:
Monday-Wednesday: 30 minute full body workout
Thursday-Saturday: 15 minute full body workout

TARGET AREAS:
Monday: Abs
Tuesday: Abs
Wednesday: Abs
Thursday: Arms
Friday: Glutes
Saturday: Legs

For these target areas, I also like to follow along with a YouTube video from PopSugar Fitness or Blogilates. Both of these channels are AMAZING and wonderfully upbeat. These shorter workouts range from 5-15 minutes and are a perfect way to work out specific parts of your body. I also use Pinterest for workout inspiration! Check out my favorites!

I used to be a member of a gym and think that I will renew my membership sometime this year. When I did go, and when I return, I like to use the elliptical as well as the stationary bike. These two machines give your legs a serious workout and if you're watching a video or listening to music, you won't even notice the burn... much. Oh, and the treadmill too!
Do you like to workout? Gym or at home? Any questions or suggestions for future posts?
xoxo,
Kianna Rose

P.S. You have to try the Blogilates squat challenge!!!

  1. This is crazy. I use almost all of the same things as you do in my fitness routine! Pop Sugar and Blogilates are the best! Pinterest. Elliptical. Such great workouts! Although my main workout is ballet and Pilates, there are my go-tos for days without ballet. Except for Sunday, because I also rest on Sunday.

I can't wait to read more of what you learned on your fitness journey!

  2. I've recently been getting back into {attempting} to work out regularly. For me, that's walking/jogging outside at a local park that has a mile long trail, making it easy to track my distance. In the past few weeks, I've really noticed an improvement in my distance and endurance with running, and it's encouraging! I've recently purchased new work out gear, and think that is a helpful motivation as well! Excited to see more fitness related posts!

  4. Ah yes, the joys of working out! It's always encouraging to me hearing about other peoples workout routines, so thank you!
I'm doing "Jillian Michael's 30 day shred" which is on youtube. I like it because it's so complete, and just hard enough to make it worth it;)

  5. I love this! Most of my routine is from model workouts I find on Youtube and Pinterest, as well as my regular running routine, but I love Blogilates as well! There are so many great ones...

Actually, I might do a spin-off post and explain my routine, because I don't want to blab on too much here. Stay tuned. :)
